Lots of mordant humor about Oscar the death-predicting cat in the news; I would like a cat on my deathbed, please. Also noting that Oscar is grey and white, in my experience a color combo that denotes intelligence and empathy (other colors have their own charms).
On the phone a good while tonight with my mother, going over her troubles with her sisters. Mom is seventy, her sisters are rising eighty, and they're still putting Mom through their childhood issues. Argh. Also made a pan of brownies that broke apart when I tried to get them out of the pan. Phooey.
Good day at work, doing a poster, figuring out how to draw a page out of a passport, and a folded piece of notebook paper. It made Amy laugh, anyway, and upper management has been sitting on her head a bit this week, so I hope a laugh helped.
Keith Olbermann watch: dark suit, striped shirt, striped tie–less a sartorial confection than I've seen on other nights. Something new with his makeup, though, a much more natural look with real skin texture showing through, and his hair positively touseled. Positively debauched-looking compared to the Mount Rushmore photo that's shown between commercials.
