I went to another art lecture today. The speaker was Elliot Earls. His web site is here. He has a mind like one of those booths that you stand in and all the dollar bills blow around you while you try to catch one.
This is my takeaway from the lecture: "Don't say you can't do something because you don't have any background in it. That's what beer, and manuals, and books are for."
(Maybe that means we should keep a beer cooler under the reference desk.)
