An uncoordinated post.

First, just to get the bad part out of the way, my dad, the Curmudgeon of Tilling, has pneumonia from an untreated sinus infection (last night's phone conversation: Me to Mom: "I think he should have gone to the doctor earlier." Dad: *growl*) –he's on expensive antibiotics (while they were at the pharmacy another customer didn't have the money to pay for his meds and had to leave without them, damn this wicked world) and isn't feverish or even fatigued (he swam 10 laps at the local pool yesterday) so he's probably not as sick as the word pneumonia makes me worry about (it's what you get if you don't put on a sweater when your mom is cold, y'know) but if you could spare him a thought or drop a hint to your favorite deity I would take it kindly (and please don't let yourself cough for six weeks without going to the doctor, even if you think it's only allergies).

But on to better things–of all K's kittens Bou gets the least space here because she's a bit shyer than the other two, but last Sunday she wore neither dignity nor pants:

With this photo I discovered that flickr phototools can fix redeye on furball pictures, and does it pretty well, too–Sally was at full yeem before correction:

Some general prettiness:

I made this for last week's poker night after I found some chocolate tortilla chips at Whole Foods–it's a dip made of cherry yogurt, soft cream cheese, and a bit of cherry jello powder because the yogurt didn't bring enough flavor or color (without the cherry jello the color was an unappetizing veinous purple):

The dip was not uninteresting in a good way…maybe just an okay way. It was better with the wheat thins if you like salty/sweet together, but the chocolate tortilla chips just tasted burnt with a cocoa aftertaste.

Finally some clouds with sun behind them, because it seems like there's been a lot of clouds around here lately:

I've cleaned the slate. Previously, all thoughts today were about how stupidly hot it was, and how much I wish a swimming pool would suddenly open up beside my desk.
Those thoughts are gone, to be replaced by good and humane ones, hopeful and strength-inducing ones, comforting and optimistic ones. They are being sent, post-haste, to Father Tilling and all his loved ones.

  2. I do wish a swimming pool would open beside your desk so you could have an Esther Williams moment–every day could be improved by an extravagant musical number!–but thank you for sending your healing powers his way (I'm probably more worried than he is right now–I just want those antibiotics to work faster).

Pa Tilling – poor Pa! Mr. sKz had a bought of pneumonia once and, much like Pa, refused to believe there was a problem even though he doubled over in pain every time he coughed. Good times, good times… May the force and the antibiotics be with you, Pa!Great photos du jour, you dreamy idealist, you πŸ˜‰ But not in a fluffy airy way…

How fabulous would THAT be? I can just see Aubrey in some tres chic little one-piece, with stylish headgear, diving sideways off her desk as an orchestra plays. The secretarial pool really should be, though it's hard on the computers.Regarding Pa of T, Mr. LT did that here a couple winters ago, same details. The antibiotics will work, but very slowly, so patience is still needed. Must be a man thing.I cannot see enough pix of Sally and Sukey.

  5. Thank you! Dad has a high pain threshold, which is not always helpful. Man thing, yeah.
I'm glad TK is home and tail up again!

  6. Thank you!
    Dreamy Idealist just sounds so…blonde.

I resemble that remark… … … πŸ˜‰ (I can't remember what TV or cartoon character used to say that instead of "I resent that remark…")
Hope your Dad will soon be feeling better.
