Okay, it's not like I didn't love the movies, but really, once you get down to the fourth name of Aragorn I'm like what, he robs banks, he needs so many aliases? I did not miss Tom Bombadil, is all I'm saying. Anyway…this is supposed to be the book in which The Hobbit and all the Lord of the Rings books were written in, found and translated by J R R Tolkien. The gold is Sparkle Gel, made by the fine folks at Wilton, and the cake is chocolate, with a filling and crumb coat of dark chocolate ganache. The outer coating is milk chocolate with a heaping helping of oil-based candy food colors to make it look like rich Corinthian leather.
I do like the mental picture of Tolkien and C. S. Lewis chatting in the faculty lounge.
