What's this?

Humans are weird.

When I got to the craft store on Friday afternoon there was one pan left, so I snatched it up immediately and then went to look at yarn. I have no plans for this yet, except for 1) red velvet cake and 2) possible incorporation of the brain jello mold.

Also a score–this came in the mail:

The numbers of 1,000 are cut out, so it's fancy

Last year some time I ran across a call for submissions for this book, so I sent in some photos. Two were accepted, so when the book arrived I immediately turned to the index to see where they were:

Do you see the number there?

The cupcakes of the beast

The other cupcakes

The first cupcakes were done for an Oscar party–they’re chocolate cupcakes (yes, devil’s food, har) dipped in chocolate, with piped on buttercream popcorn, decorated with movie candy. I learned from these cupcakes that Jujubes stick peoples’ teeth together and gummy bears are probably a better choice for this kind of thing. The second cupcakes are chocolate dipped in chocolate, with a ruff of cream cheese-marshmallow fluff, and a strawberry. They were awesome.

The book’s official release date in Nov. 1, but they were sent to contributors early to help market them (no pay for submissions, just the chance to buy the books for half price, so there’s a couple of Christmas presents done). Since I’m only responsible for .002% (PegMath: 2 pictures out of 1,000) of the content, I can’t really recommend its purchase on account of me, but if you see it in a bookstore you might could take a look.

Lol at Sally! SO glad you got the skull pan! I can’t wait to see what you do with that!

The pics in the book are great…..hilarious that you got page 666. Too bad you didn’t have the skull pan for THAT submission! πŸ˜‰

  3. That’s wonderful!! I HAVE to go buy it, and tell everyone, ‘see, I KNOW her.” *hugs*

Aw, man, no money for the Cupcakes of the Beast? Congrats anyway.

Love the pix of Sally, and can’t wait to see what comes out of the skull pan. If the brain mold is incorporated, it will be a true work of art.

    Sweet! Literally and figuratively!

Congratulations to you! Well deserved of course.

Could the cake tin double as a halloween mask?
