I was worried about doing a recognizable character but it came out better than I was afraid it would–thanks PBS for the big face graphic!
squee! that’s adorable. well done!
It’s wonderful! And here’s a riveting story about the origins of Curious George I saw on the web today, coincidentally.
It even involves Nazis!
Thank you! that’s a awesome story–
Authority figure: ARE YOU A SPYYYYY??????
Reys: No, look, monkey!
Authority figure: Aw. You may pass.
So cute!!! Excellent likeness!
Did you use piping gel to transfer the design, or are you a good enough artist to freehand it?
I traced the outlines onto parchement paper to make stencils, then used the stencils to put the outline on the crumb coat with a tooth pick. I filled in the yellow part then the brown parts with a piping bag then smoothed out the piping marks. Placing the facial features was the hardest part!
